Canon scanner not recognized by my Mac

Hello

I just installed a Canon TS8250 multifunction printer on my Mac (OS 10.11.6), the printing function is working, but the scanning is not recognized by the IJ Scan Utility Lite software that I just installed. What should I do?

    Good evening,

    Have you checked if your printer driver is compatible with your OS?
    In your printer folder, do you not have "MP Navigator EX"? Usually, this utility is provided for the scanner, but I have an old version.
    Otherwise, you can use the scanner by going through system preferences/printers and scanners/scan.
