USB stick not recognized on TV

I don't know what I've done with my USB key, but when I try to read files loaded onto my computer on the television, the TV tells me that the key is not supported by the television.
I reformatted the USB key. It works on my computer but not on the TV.
Can someone help me?

Hello,  What format is this drive in? If it's HFS+ (Mac OS Extended), it's likely that the TV won't recognize it.  Best regards.

No, it's a USB drive that I've already used to watch movies: I would download a movie onto my computer; I would copy it onto the USB drive and then I would watch the movie on the TV. It worked!!!
It's a 4 GB Sandisk drive. It says cruzer micro. It's a regular drive.
Actually, I wanted to delete some movies from this drive. But I couldn't do it (I later saw on the website that I also needed to empty the recycle bin for it to work.)
I managed to do that. But did I erase everything, even important files?
So my drive is empty, I can copy files onto it, and read them on the computer

But earlier I tinkered with something and now I can't read the movies on the TV, which doesn't recognize the drive.

That's exactly why I was talking to you about the format: the data recording format is different between Mac OS (HFS+) and Windows (NTFS). If the tinkering involved formatting in "MacOS Extended" (= HFS+), it is likely that the TV can no longer read the drive, unlike the Mac.  @+

Hello,
I formatted the USB drive in several ways (thinking I was doing well, really!!!!) including Mac OS Extended....
But the Mac offers others:
Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
---
MSDOS (FAT)
I don’t know why, but in the list on the left
of Disk Utility,
in addition to the info about the Micro
it says:
USB key (which is normal)
and:
3.7GB SanDisk Cruzer Micro Media.
As if there were two names for my USB drive????
Can I repair my card or not?
If it’s too complicated, don’t stress too much: I have another drive that works.

Hello,

MSDOS, an old Windows format, is readable and writable by Macs, but files cannot exceed 4 GB (unless I'm mistaken), which is still too little for HD movies. The TV probably only reads NTFS (see above).

Yes, it's normal for the Utility to display two lines for a drive: the physical drive on the first line, then below it, the "volumes" that correspond to the usable partitions after formatting. If you had created two partitions, you would have three lines and so on.

Following your explanations, I reformatted my card to the MSDOS (FAT) format and it WORKS!!!!
My TV was able to "recognize" the USB drive and play the movie I copied/pasted onto it. A big thank you for your explanations and your help!!!!
