Error message: "NVIDIA display settings are not available" Solved

Question

Hello, good evening, I am reaching out to you today because I cannot access the NVIDIA control panel. When I try to launch it, an error message appears: "NVIDIA display settings are not available. You are not currently using a display connected to an NVIDIA graphics processor." I have tried uninstalling the driver and then reinstalling the correct one from nvidia.fr, I checked that my graphics card was indeed enabled... But the problem persists and I still haven't found a solution. For your information, my graphics card is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 TI. Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards,

Good evening Wyzou,  Try this again.  Search in the Start Menu: Device Manager  - Click on Graphics card. - Then enable all your graphics cards (right-click/enable).  Restart your computer.  Best regards, -- ChariduP

Hello,  With a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 TI I think you must be on W10.  Try these procedures:  1- Restart several Nvidia services Press Windows + R then type services.msc and press Enter. The following NVIDIA services: NVIDIA Display Container LS NVIDIA LocalSystem Container NVIDIA NetworkService Container NVIDIA Telemetry Container Right-click on NVIDIA Display Container LS, then select Properties. Click Stop, then select Automatic in the Startup type dropdown list. Wait a few minutes, then click Start again to start the service in question. Repeat the steps for all other remaining NVIDIA services.   2- From the Windows Store NVIDIA Control Panel here Click Install (Download)  Seems to work on some systems. 1- Download or save the NVIDIA GeForce 425.31 WHQL driver here  Place it on the Desktop.  2- Disable driver signature enforcement. Right-click on the CE-PC icon Properties Advanced system settings Hardware tab Device installation settings A window opens Check the box --> No (your device might not work as expected)   3- Download or save DDU Extract and install DDU (click or double-click to extract it on the Desktop)  Disable your Internet connection (important!) unplug the cable or turn off the Wifi icon. Boot Windows in Safe Mode, see here from Settings. Run DDU and choose the graphics provider, click on Nvidia and select Clean and Restart. Once the PC has successfully restarted under Windows, run the .exe driver you downloaded from Nvidia and follow the installation process. Click on custom installation (not express) and check the clean installation option. Make sure to check Geforce Experience as well as any other desired drivers during this process. Restart and reconnect to the Internet.  P.S: It's not necessary to do this in Safe Mode if driver signature enforcement is disabled, but it's advisable to do so.  A+   -- pistouri

What version of W10 do you have? In the Cortana search field type → winver Note the version.  Do you have a desktop or a laptop?  For a desktop, it might not be plugged in properly.  See you later -- pistouri

Hello,  You don't have the latest version of W 10 → 1809 One of the reasons could be that the Intel driver (not the one for the graphics card) is not up to date. You could run a detection with DriversCloud and update everything that is Intel. Or with the Media Creation Tool Tutorial here  To get back to → You are currently not using a display connected to an NVIDIA graphics processor. The monitor is connected to the wrong port at the back. Look behind your PC and connect your screen to your graphics card, not your motherboard. Sometimes the connection for the graphics card is much lower, placed horizontally. And sometimes hidden by a cover (a panel that needs to be removed).  If you are using an HDMI port: Your screen might be connected to a vertical HDMI port, corresponding to the Intel card. Check if you have another horizontal HDMI port at the bottom of the tower Connect the video cable (HDMI) to the motherboard and not to the graphics card.  See you later!    -- pistouri

You're welcome, happy for you.  For the 1809 update, even by manually checking for updates in Windows Update, you won't receive it.  Devices running "certain new Intel graphics drivers" are not allowed to receive the update via Windows Update.  The current solution is to update the Intel graphics drivers to a version newer than 24.20.100.6345.  To check the driver installation version Device Manager → Display adapters.  Right-click on the Intel one, then properties  Driver tab  Check the driver version number  Example:   1- Right-click on the Intel® graphics card entry and select → Update driver. 2- With DriversCloud  In summary, update everything Intel-related.
