I can't download my documents received by email.

Good evening, I am writing to you because I was sent some files via email, but I am unable to download them.
I received 18, but I already have 8, which I received to get a head start.
The problem is that I absolutely cannot download the other 10 files.
I tried with Google Docs, Word, and Internet Explorer, and I get error messages saying that I cannot open them.
I need your help, these files are important.

    Good evening,

    You need to ask your correspondent what the format of the sent documents is.
    Normally, once the documents are saved on your computer, you just need to click on them to open them.
    If Windows cannot determine the format and therefore cannot find the program capable of opening them, there is indeed a problem. So, please reach out to the person who sent them.
