Hello, I have a Rockville RPG 2 x 15 pre-amplifier mixing table... on the back, there are 2 speaker outputs of 8 ohms 1/4 and a line out 1/4. I am already using the 2 speaker outputs and I would like to connect a passive subwoofer... if I add an equalizer from the line out of my table to an input of the equalizer that has a sub output, would that work or is it not recommended?

Hello.
>>> I own a Rockville RPG 2 x 15 pre-amplifier mixing console. <<<
Are you sure that's the correct model? This mixer is unknown on the Net. It's a matter of seeing what outputs this console has. (hoping we can find some pictures)
See you later . . .

Good evening.
My apologies . . . Very busy today.
Indeed, I advise against using an equalizer. The active sub has its own crossover on its amplifier board (for example, 250 Hz)
You can buy an ACTIVE subwoofer with RCA inputs via the monitor outputs of your amplifier (but it seems from the photo that they are already occupied) or in parallel with the speaker outputs.
This type of connection is possible for example (I say example) on the Chorus SW 700 V active >>>

Hello.
Sorry for not responding. I didn't get a reply message about the topic in my Orange mailbox. Strange, but it's not the first time, even with other forums.
>>> it's still to be determined what the line out of the amp 1/4 could be used for <<<
This Line output (point between preamp and amp) is used to feed the input of another amp or the input of the equalizer, and then from its output to another amp. But if you go through the equalizer, it will be on a single channel since it seems your powered mixer Rockville rpg 2 x 15 is MONO.
2 X 15 means that the speakers have 15-inch (38 cm) 8-ohm woofers, with the 2 speaker outputs connected in parallel (350 W amp at 4 ohms).

>>> but my sub is passive. <<<
So there's no other way than to buy another amp with equal or lower power than the SUB's power.
Don't hesitate for other questions.
Catch you later . . .
PS = So my suggestion with the Focal Chorus SW 700 V is pointless.
