Connecting amplifier/tuner, CD player, and speakers?

Hello,
I am a girl who is trying hard to understand how to connect my amplifier/tuner with my CD player and my speakers TOGETHER??
I took photos of the back of both devices to show you the "output jacks":

https://imageshack.com/
https://imageshack.com/

Here are my devices:
1. a SCHNEIDER sound project Ta 6000 amplifier/tuner,
2. a PHILIPS cd6000 CD player,
3. 2 PIONEER speakers each with 2 wires at the back (1 black and 1 red)
I don't understand what types of jacks I have to deal with, especially regarding the antenna and the speaker outputs of the amplifier/tuner (photo1). I read that I needed to find adapters to connect old devices like these together...

Could you please tell me how to connect all this and especially HOW?? Thank you all and happy new year 2008!
here is my email:

    Hi,

to connect all of this, you need to have the right “connectors”.
As you can see, behind your amp => speakers that correspond to your speakers (see your manual to see where the + and - go).

For your turntable, connect “out” L and R to your amp, uh I don’t know which one is at the back of your amp (you would need to check your amp’s manual to see what is accepted on each input).

    Hello fafou_novice,

For your amplifier output, you have speaker terminals. (SP)
    - with the round hole which is the positive terminal (RED)
    - with a rectangular square which is the negative terminal (BLACK).
    SUPPOSITION: IT'S NOT VERY CLEAR!
You can connect two pairs of speakers to this amplifier.

Next, on this amplifier, you have:
    - an auxiliary DIN socket for example a CD player.
I must emphasize that you need to be careful with the outputs of this player!
    - a DIN socket for a first turntable PHONO1.
    - a DIN socket for a second turntable PHONO2.
    - a DIN socket for a tape recorder for playback.
    - a DIN socket for a tape recorder for recording audio coming from the TUNER or PHONO1 or 2

For the DIN connectors: here are the correspondences: http://www.abcelectronique.com/annuaire/connecteurs/audio_video/din_audio.phtml

    Hello fafou_novice,

you say: - how to make an antenna and how to connect it to AM ANT and FM ANT??
The impedance of your antenna (or dipole) must be 50 ohms. Not 75 ohms, that's for TV reception.
If you have some knowledge of physics, you'll see that creating an antenna is not that easy.
The wisest thing to do is to go to a store and ask for a 50-ohm wire antenna.

you say: - my speaker wires are stripped at the end...what should I add to connect them to the inputs of my amp/tuner???
Because today's amplifiers use clamp-type connectors. In this case, no need for speaker connectors.

    IMPORTANT Reminder:
If the red and black wires were to touch, you will create a short circuit on the amplification stage: in plain language, YOU WILL HAVE NO SOUND.
That's why I'm telling you to use a connector. You now know the risks, it's up to you to make sure your installation has no issues....

    Your turn to play...

Hello and thank you! I had seen all that, the thing is I don't have a manual for all these devices... is it serious?

    Hello lenrok and thank you!
However, I have 1 issue with connections:
    - how do I make an antenna and how do I insert it into AM ANT and FM ANT??
    - I understand how to connect my amplifier to my turntable (aux), but where exactly do I plug it into my turntable (which holes)?
    - my speaker wires are stripped at the end...what should I add to connect them to the terminals of my amplifier/tuner???
    Thanks again!

    Thank you again,
I still have a problem with my speakers. Let me explain: they are wires (black and red) stripped at the end. However, on my Schneider amp/tuner, I see that I need a connector = a "plug" to insert these cables... but I don’t know what it looks like. I'm not just going to stick my wires into the holes of the tuner/amp, you know?
You know, I don’t know anything at all, so what you’re talking about is a bit like Chinese to me...
Could you please look at the pictures again and make me a sketch of what I need to do without setting the house on fire, or guide me step by step telling me which plug to connect to which color, etc...? You would be really kind!
    Thank you again, f.d.

Hello, I just bought an old vinyl player from TESLA, model NZC 041 LUXE, but I don't understand how to connect the speakers to my amplifier even though I have an intuition that the connection, being old, may not work with my newer speakers. What equipment should I buy to make them compatible? Do you know what kind of store still has old speakers? Is there a solution to my problem?

It's me again, I'm just adding that the connections on the amp turntable are all small and rectangular with a tiny round one next to them. I've deduced that the old speakers had clip connections. Here are some photos because it's not obvious:

Thank you in advance for any attempt to help with my despair of not being able to listen to my vinyl records.

Good evening to you, I have another question regarding this amplifier (I own a TA8000 - the model above at the time). I just reconnected it and bought speakers with the possibility of bi-wiring. My question is: do you think it is possible to bi-wire using the "speaker" outputs A and B??? It may be unnecessary, but I am wondering... Thank you for shedding some light on this.

      Good evening,
What do you mean by bi-amp?
      On amplifiers, you generally have
      - speakers A
      - speakers B
      - speaker A+B
For each connection, you have a different impedance (sometimes A and B are the same). So your connection depends on the impedance of your speakers (you should try to be as close as possible to the required value to avoid distortion...
The common values are 4, 8 or (rarely) 16 Ohms. It's indicated on the back of the speakers and in the amplifier's manual.
      Best regards
      Gabriel

        Good evening Gabriel,
My apologies for the delay... I'm connecting bi-wired to my speakers because there are 4 terminals for the cables coming to the amp. I have the choice of either using a jumper (provided with the speakers) to power the bass and treble simultaneously, or not using these jumpers and powering the treble with A (for example) and the bass with B, but I'm not sure if that's acceptable...
Personally, I resolved my question by buying the same speakers to power them with B.
Now, for my information, I remain interested in the matter.
        Best regards.

        Okay, I see the possible configurations; it depends on the type of speakers you want to connect;
If you have triad speakers, meaning bass, mid, and tweeter for high frequencies in the same enclosure (which is the case for most common HIFI speakers), you can combine them as you like.
If you have specialized speakers (like a subwoofer on one side and mid and tweeter on the other), you use A + B. For good acoustics, you should group the speakers geographically as much as possible in pairs (A1 + B1 in one corner and A2 + B2 in another corner) for a more harmonious sound. In this case, you should always respect (as best as possible) the impedance requirements of the amplifier...
        Did I answer your question?
        Best regards
        Gabriel

    Good evening

A double terminal on a speaker allows for the separation of bass and treble amplification
    Two options
Either bi-wiring. Four wires between the amp and each speaker... eight in total
Or bi-amplification, one amp for the bass and one amp for the treble. Eight wires as well

These techniques are only used by audiophiles

In a standard configuration, leave the jumpers on the speakers in place and use the speakers
as standard speakers with a single terminal

    Best regards

    Good evening to you,

to respond to el-mariachi, that’s exactly the desired goal (audiophile setup)... so is it good to connect in bi-wire using the A+B speaker solution (so in A, 4 wires for the highs; and in B 4 wires for the lows)?
I chose to bring out my old Schneider amp to replace my Sony home cinema that had a sound I found terrible... Then, when I realized the “magical” sound that a TA8000 could produce, I bought (as mentioned above) another pair of speakers like the ones I had just purchased and a Denon amp...
And there... very pure and “magical” sound as well! Goodbye home cinemas!!!!! The question I originally asked is no longer relevant but I'm still interested!

    Good evening Damien

I'm having a hard time following you
please give me your setup again.

P.S.: that being said, the kid....... meh!
I have a Yamaha home theater amplifier with Audio Reference or JMLab speakers. Depending on the day!
Awesome.........better than my Denon stereo hi-fi!

We're going to stick to the original topic, so configuration:
      - Schneider TA8000 amplifier (from 1978) with speaker outputs A, B, and A+B
      - 2 Jamo speakers with the possibility of wiring in bi-amp mode.

      There it is.
      So:
      - either I stick with a standard configuration with the 2 speakers connected to A with the jumpers,
      - or I remove the jumpers and connect the highs to A and the lows to B and switch the amplifier to A+B
Is that possible? Or is it stupid?

      Have a good evening.

        bi-wiring .......I prefer bi-cabling !!!

yes you can cable like that
but honestly I don't think you can tell the difference with standard cabling

if I were you, I would rather buy some good cable and do a classic wiring

bi-wiring is a bit .................too much!
it's like putting CDs in the fridge for better sound

        see you
        ps: however, bi-amplification .... that's the best
        recycle your home theater!
