My Windows 10 installation is stuck at 46% obtaining updates

Hello,

I have a Windows 8.1 that I am trying to upgrade to 10, but it keeps getting stuck at 46% during the update process.
It all started when my computer informed me that a Netflix update was necessary; I had previously configured my computer not to propose updates, so I changed that setting, but nothing worked. The Windows Update search was endless, so I thought it was time to upgrade to Windows 10.
After restoring my computer, uninstalling my antivirus, disabling my firewall, and removing all external devices, the problem remains the same—the update progress bar gets stuck at 46%.
I'm out of ideas... Help
Thank you

Configuration: Windows / Internet Explorer 11.0

Hello,

Instead of updating your Windows version, which allows you to keep your data,
you should do a clean installation from a USB drive.

The idea is to create a Windows 10 installation USB drive and boot the computer from it to reinstall Windows without formatting.
Since the computer is stuck, you'll need to create it from another functioning computer.

To create the USB drive:

If the drive doesn't work, try making one again with Rufus: how to download Rufus.
Download the ISO file, for example with Adguard: Download Windows ISO
Run Rufus and then specify the ISO file
In partition type, choose GPT.
For more details, refer to this tutorial for specifics: how to create a Windows installation USB drive

The Windows 10 installer should then start:

Follow this tutorial that explains how to install Windows 10: how to install Windows 10.
All steps are provided from A to Z with tips at the end to secure Windows 10.
  • Let yourself be guided to install Windows 10.
  • Choose custom (not upgrade)
  • During the partition phase, select the main partition and click next.
  • Follow the Windows installation procedure using the tutorial above.

Just don't format.

Your user data will be copied into the Windows.old folder.

Once Windows is installed, I advise you to follow these tips to properly configure and use Windows: Tips after reinstalling Windows.
