Hello,
I received a connected vacuum for Christmas, the Neato Botvac Connected D7.
I have a connection problem between the robot and my network, it detects my WIFI but it gets stuck at step 2, which is connecting to the Internet; it cannot find the IP address.
What is going on?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7, please use simple words if you have any information to give me, I don't know much about computers and other connected things.
Thank you very much!

Hi,
since you know nothing about computers, you might know about regular vacuum cleaners, without a connection?
So it would be a good idea to use it for what it is meant to do best: picking up dust instead of polluting the internet with irrelevant information, or worse, hacking it.
All this to say that all these objects with useless functions have no means of testing and diagnosing and very little information about the problems they encounter, so, like toys, it is almost impossible to repair them when things don't go well, resulting in, at best, only basic uses, which is already good, and at worst, ending up in the waste disposal site.

Hello
For specific questions: www.NeatoRobotics.com/Support.
For now, we should start with what is in the manual
COLOR OF LIGHT SIGNIFICATION
Slowly blinking blue
Robot in pairing mode
Quickly blinking blue*
Pairing with the app or Neato account
Quickly blinking red
Error during connection
Solid blue
Successful pairing
Light off
The robot is not connected - please connect it to access
additional functions
BATTERY LIGHT
connection with the robot. Several explanations are possible: the robot is out of range of the
network, the Wi-Fi network is down, or another Wi-Fi related issue has occurred. If it is out
of range, the robot will automatically reconnect when it detects the network again. If not, check that your router is functioning normally.

So, I've read the manual inside out and I can't find the cause of my problem.
My Freebox is properly connected, my other devices connected to it are working fine, I moved my vacuum cleaner to the room where the Freebox is to see if it changed anything, but no.
I plugged the base into my living room and the Freebox is in my office, both on the ground floor of my house. But it's the robot itself that connects, not the base, right? Let me know if I'm wrong...
Then I saw in the comments on the Play Store where you download the app that a lot of people are complaining about the new update that apparently bugs the robot, however, since I just received my robot and I'm having trouble connecting it to the app, I'm not affected by this update, am I? Normally, I should be able to connect to it first and then do the update, right?

From what I'm reading above, it's not the robot that doesn't detect the box, but rather it can't access the internet. That's not the same at all.
And so if there's a faulty update, you'll have to wait, since the latest devices probably already have the latest version.
Unless you can access all the network settings of the robot through the app, I don't see what can be done.
All these connected devices use the same thing, namely that the configuration of the device necessarily goes through the app, which itself connects to the internet (initially), and then the "bridge" is made between the device and the internet.
I'm having the same kind of hassle with a connected weather station. Except that in my case, I couldn't care less if it connects to the internet :)

So if it comes from the update, does the problem lie with the application or the robot itself? Because if it’s the robot, no matter how long I wait for the update to be fixed, I won’t have a way to update it again since the app can’t recognize the robot?
As I mentioned earlier to "Brupala", I will check in a store if I can test my robot, at least to find out where the problem comes from... the robot, the app, the faulty update, or my box...
I hope to find a solution because even if I can indeed use it only as a regular vacuum, I believe that for this price, if you get a connected vacuum, it should be connected and programmable, among other things... otherwise I would have stuck to my corded vacuum and the cleaning chore...

I'm having the same issue since an update.
The only Wi-Fi it detects is the hotspot from my mobile phone.
So the robot only works in programming when I'm at home because that option is managed via the web. Despite already having 2 automatic updates of the robot through the app, the problem remains the same.
It doesn't detect any Wi-Fi from the house, and it's really frustrating.
I have a dual-band box, a dual-band antenna, and a network repeater as well.
In short, 1 network in 2.4GHz found out of 4! (if my phone is activated) otherwise 0/3 > very disappointed!! yes

And at 1000 euros for a vacuum cleaner, I would still like to have an answer to my question in order to use it properly with all the options it offers.
Moreover, it seems that the problem comes from my connection and not necessarily from the vacuum cleaner.
I was wondering if there is something to change in the Freebox settings for the vacuum cleaner to recognize my IP address? I don't know how it works...
I'll try to check with people around me to see if they have any ideas. I unpacked my robot this evening, maybe I missed a step.
Is he visible in the router's interface?
