Hello everyone, this is Cdbvs
I bought a Toshiba 32W1753DG TV Led when my beautiful 16:9 CRT TV died. This new television works very well but it has a flaw and that's the purpose of my question.
Sometimes, at night, the red standby light on the television starts to blink green.
Apparently this wouldn’t be a problem, except when you sleep next to it and it wakes up the person who is sleeping.
Question:
1. Is this blinking normal?
2. Can we put a switch on the power cord to completely turn off the television?
2b. Since this is not offered with the television, will it damage it?
Thank you for your answers and see you soon.

Hello,
It may be that this green blinking indicates an "OTA download" (OTA = over the air), meaning your TV is updating:
"When the television enters standby mode, the LED standby indicator blinks to indicate that functions such as Standby Search, OTA download, or Timer are active. The
LED indicator may also blink when you turn on the television from standby mode."
See page 12 of this manual:

You need to read page 22 and simply disable automatic updates in the System Menu/settings/more/software update.
