Hello
Is it important and optimal to plug in the gray XDSL filter supplied with the Livebox4?
I was with Free since 2011, and my Revolution Box was connected directly to the phone socket on terminals 1 and 3, and it worked perfectly!
But when I migrated to Sosh, I wanted to connect the Livebox4 to the same R11 cable that my Revolution Box was connected to, but it doesn't work (no connection), odd? As soon as I plug in the gray XDSL filter from Orange, it works immediately!
I don't understand why? I've always heard that the XDSL filter is of no use at all! Only for those who have kept their landline so that they can connect the phone + the Box, nothing more
Maybe the wires of the cable I used for Free don't match those of the Livebox4?
Here's the connection for Free: terminal 1 green wire - terminal 3 red wire
Could someone advise me, thanks in advance

Hi,
indeed the filter is useless except to adapt the connection.
After that, it seems that the RJ11 connector adapter provided with your LBX is not suitable, probably due to different wiring.
The colors of the wires don’t matter, what counts is their position on the plug and where they lead.
Why don’t you use the ADSL cable that came with the LBX?

My Livebox is about 4m away from the phone socket, the Livebox cable is 3m, so I had bought a 5m cable for the Freebox. I need to find the correct wire placement on the Livebox, but I can't find any instructions on this. What should I do? For now, of course, I've connected the Livebox with its original cable, but it's sitting on a stool about 1m from the TV cabinet, not very nice looking?
isn't it just a simple telephone extension?
The filter provided with the LBX, is it the one with 2 RJ11?
I don't see why a standard RJ11 cable wouldn't work; if any LB4 owners have examples of other cables used, they are welcome to come forward.
