Inserting a letter without deleting the next one

Hello,
I can't insert a letter in Word without deleting the following letter

Configuration: Windows / Chrome 69.0.3497.81

    Hello,

    You must have activated overwrite mode instead of insert mode.

    To switch modes, you usually just need to press the "Insert" key.

    Sometimes you need to enable the option: file/Options/Advanced options check "Use the Insert key to control overtype mode."

    For your information, the Overwrite mode no longer works with the Insert key in Word since version 2007. Explanations here:

      It is certainly a way of doing things, but through the advanced options, you can always enable Insert in Office 2013.

      which would be a mistake... MS corrected this due to too many people accidentally pressing the Insert key...

        It's the advanced option, for those who know what they're doing ;-)
