Hello,
I managed to set up my repeater, but I can't find the PIN code requested when I want to connect with my computer: the PIN code on the repeater box has 10 digits, the box does too, and the code requested for connection is supposed to have 8... Bouygues directed me to the TP-Link phone support which is closed on weekends
; can someone help me? Thanks
Configuration: Windows / Edge 17.17134

However, I don't see a WPS button on my box...? I have 4 lights (power, internet, phone 1, phone 2, and a WIFI button... is it the same thing?
Thanks again

On most routers, the WPS button is also the Wi-Fi button, otherwise it has a symbol with two circular arrows
The Wi-Fi button: a brief press => disables or reactivates the Wi-Fi; a long press (about 1 second) initiates WPS and the button blinks for 1 or 2 minutes during the connection possibility..
See you later!

Hello,
I’m surprised because I use a similar TP-Link repeater, and there's no mention of a PIN code.
However, at the beginning of the first configuration, you’re asked to choose an access password, which you need to provide when connecting to the repeater.
Normally:
- either you want to surf and connect to the output network, in which case you need to provide the network password (and it should normally be the same as for the network being repeated, at least on my model)
- or you connect to the repeater to access/re-access the configuration, and in that case, you need to give the repeater's password through the web page referencing tplink, noting that in my case, you can only access the repeater if you are first connected to the repeated wifi network.
If I were you, and if you’re in a hurry, I would reset the repeater to factory settings (I believe you need to hold down the reset button for about ten seconds while the repeater is plugged in, until the lights respond. Then, you should only lose about 15 minutes to redo the configuration... just be careful with this password issue..
Be careful, at the start, for the configuration:
- either you connect to the repeater via wifi, and you need to connect to the temporary wifi network it emits provisionally (similar to tplinkrepeater.net),
- or you connect via ethernet cable, and in that case, you need to access the internal address 192.168.0.254 through your browser, which has nothing to do with your box.
All these indications correspond to my model "TP-Link RE200", but they should be very close to yours..
Hoping I’ve helped you, and I’m gladly available ..
See you later

I think you are making a mistake, and you must believe that you need to press the WPS button to connect the repeater to your computer. No, your computer must connect via Wifi to the repeated network; check the list of available networks...
The WPS mode only serves for a few minutes, so that the repeater can find the first time the network from the box and obtain the wifi key.
As for the access password, it is here: username admin and password admin, until you change them.
A+

Good evening, Nyctalope
I’m coming back from a rehearsal day, but I’ll pick that up again tomorrow, and indeed, do a reset.
But first, thank you for your suggestions that I will try to follow.
What I did yesterday: (I connected via Wi-Fi, anyway the ethernet cable was missing from the box!) : I connected anyway using the address 192.168.0.254, I gave it a personal password. Then I renamed the 2.4 Ghz and the 5 Ghz. All that, without any issues.
Then I moved to the room where I use my computer, I placed the TP-Link, the circle was completely blue. And it’s when I tried to connect to the network that I had renamed home (for the 2.4) or home 5G for the other, that the Pin code request came up…
I will redo my steps and I will let you know the result unless you tell me where the error is in my process?

Good evening,
Honestly, I don't see any mistakes in the ongoing operations, and you seem to be handling it well, and even more :-) ..
The only thing that intrigues me: for the initial setup without a cable, you need to catch the wifi network named tplinkrepeater.net that takes you directly to the setup page, and you shouldn’t connect to the address 192.168.0.254 which, if I'm not mistaken, is reserved for the alternative wired ethernet connection.
Did you remember to "save" your changes as you went along? It seems so, since your networks were named ...
And it's better to disconnect from the menu (at the top right?) before unplugging it ..
Normally, when prompted to connect to the repeated wifi network, you need to enter the wifi network password.
Be careful, now that the tplink is configured, the configuration wifi network tplinkrepeater.net is no longer available.
It is now a web page tplinkrepeater.net stored in the repeater. By connecting to the repeated network, and then typing this address in your browser, you should regain access to the repeater settings, or possibly to its reconfiguration after entering the repeater password.
You could start there, see what happens, no risks since you always have the option to do a reset (I've done it several times) ..
Otherwise, reset the repeater and start over, it doesn't take long. This is the first time we've struggled a bit.
See you later

Hello, Nyctalope
That’s it! Phew! In fact, I was so obsessed with this 8-digit PIN code required for the login that I hadn’t seen that I also had the “network key” option!
Finally, I no longer have reduced or lost connection!
Thanks again for your advice and for reassuring me about my method.
