Epson Stylus PX 730 WD Stamp Ink

Hello,

My Epson Stylus Photo PX 730 WD printer is no longer working
with a message saying the ink pad is at the end of its life.
I took it for repair and they are asking me for 20 euros for a quote and telling me
that it is not repairable?
I disagree! It smells like a scam;
My printer is 4 years old and was working perfectly until now apart from this message.
What do you advise me to do?

    The link for the software that allows you to reset the ink counter to zero is >> Here but unfortunately this printer doesn't seem to be listed .. But nothing prevents you from trying just in case ??

    Edit >> I think it would also be interesting to contact Epson support as it may be covered for free for a relatively recent printer like yours (4 years +)

    The ink counter is known to them.
    You need to search a bit on the internet; I remember seeing a video that showed how to bypass the ink cartridge lock, but it requires an application that is complicated to find and may not be available for all models.
    Because the issue isn't the counter itself but the ink counter.
    Maybe a search in English will be more productive.

      Except that the handling and supply of the absorber pad was covered by Epson. Epson no longer provides these pads and authorized repairers are not allowed to reset the counter if the pad is not replaced. This means that "some" are rinsing the "blotter".......... due to the inability to obtain new ones.
      As for Epson France, for me, it's over. It's better to be Canadian or American; you're treated better.

    Thank you for the advice;

    I spoke with Epson support who told me that my printer was too old and that the part was no longer available;
    That I needed to change it and that they would offer me a goodwill gesture.
    I refused and took my printer to a nearby computer shop
    An honest merchant who called support and will have the part in 3 days - This will cost me 70 euros instead of 170 euros -
    It just goes to show, if you trust support you get taken for a ride!

    Just for your information, there is an ink stamp kit ref Epson 1497335 >> This is what you need if we trust this link and I think we can! >> Here for the sum of €10 + shipping (+/- €6)
