If I cover my front camera, my screen goes black.

Hello,
When I cover or something obstructs the front camera, my screen goes black until I remove what is blocking. Does anyone know what this could be due to or if I've been hacked??

Configuration: iPhone / Safari 11.0

    Hello Caroldp,

What you are describing seems similar to what happens when you're on a call and when you bring the phone to your ear, it "turns off" to prevent you from pressing buttons during the call?

It might be that your light sensor is a bit disturbed...

Dumb question, but have you tried restarting your iPhone? Maybe updating it?

You are right, I restarted it and everything is working normally, thank you very much. I was already imagining being hacked lol.

    Hello

iPhone but which one? Also, aren't you aware that you have a proximity sensor, so nothing unusual?

Hello Sal, it seems that this sensor doesn't activate when using the phone in hands-free mode. It happens to me when I use Waze though, or obviously during calls, but not during simple use. Carol seems to be telling us that it occurs constantly, regardless of the form of use.

When I cover or something obstructs the front camera, that's what's being said, right? Who tells us it's really the camera and not the proximity sensor? We'll see his response.

Yes, I understood, they are next to each other, I figured it was the sensor, I wasn't talking about the camera ;-)

So, my apologies. I was following up on this comment

It happens to me when I use Waze.

Yes, it was a question to ask if it reproduced that effect :)

Hello, the same thing just happened to me with my Samsung phone. I turned it off and on again, and the problem was fixed!!! Thank you very much.
