iPhone: my camera is stuck, black screen Solved/Closed

Hello,

I have a recent problem with my iPhone that is quite annoying.
Recently, when I open the camera app, it freezes and I can't see the image. I can go to the library and switch between applications using the home button.

Otherwise, I haven't dropped it or had any shocks.
My iPhone is a 3G 8GB black, not jailbroken, on version 4.2.1 (I believe) with the latest available update.
I have tried restarting the iPhone (doesn't work), restoring my iPhone not as a new user (doesn't work), and using another free photo app from the App Store (doesn't work).

I hope to find my solution, thank you in advance.

Hello everyone, you should know that if the iPhone's memory is full, the camera will no longer work, free up some memory space, turn off the iPhone and turn it back on.

Once you're in your main menu, press the center button (round button with a square inside) twice, then look for the camera app and press and hold it. Once the apps start moving, press the little minus at the top of the app. In fact, your iPhone will "close the app." Then press the camera app in your menu again. The app will restart, and the bug will disappear. Also, make sure to update it as it fixes this issue.

You need to simultaneously press both power buttons for about 5 seconds the iPhone turns off, then the Apple logo appears and the iPhone restarts, but it takes a little while.

Hello, your problem will probably be resolved if you get rid of bulky apps. If your memory is almost full, your camera won't work even if you update your system. If you have this problem, this is the only method to follow, and it’s effective.

If your camera is stuck in rear mode and is functional in front mode (FaceTime), as well as the flash not working, it may be a hardware issue related to a bad connection of the ribbon/cable inside the device. To reconnect it, simply:
- unscrew the two bottom screws of the device;
- open the screen using a suction cup no more than 3cm to avoid tearing the home button ribbon and disconnect it;
- unscrew the plate that protects the FaceTime/LCD screen/touchscreen/battery and camera connectors at the top right within the open chassis of the phone;
- and correctly reconnect this ribbon at the top right.
