Good evening,

I have a rather quirky question. A surprising observation I just made on WhatsApp:

So, a message I sent was delivered but unread (2 grey ticks), but when I switch to "message info," I see the two blue ticks (meaning read) but without the read receipt time. If I go back to the message window, the message is still unread (two grey ticks).

Only when the person replies to the message does the time also appear on the "message info" page, and the time indicated is the moment the person replies to me.

Who can help me solve this great mystery?

Your correspondents can disable the read receipt confirmation for the recipients if they wish...
