How to reactivate the keyboard backlight? Solved

Hello,

Since this morning, I can't reactivate the keyboard backlight. When I click on FN + F3 (to decrease brightness) or F4 (to increase brightness), only one message appears: "Keyboard backlight disabled."

I've tried looking in the settings, but I haven't found anything related to the keyboard lighting. I don't think it's broken since the keys respond; I'm just wondering how I could have "disabled" it...

Anyway, do you know how to reactivate it?

The keyboard backlight of the ASUS Notebook N750JV was no longer working.

Regarding this issue, I recommend installing the ATK driver for the keyboard (otherwise we suggest a complete restore to eliminate software conflicts):

1. When the "Save As" window appears, specify a folder to save the downloaded file, then click "Save." The download progress window will appear.
2. Once the file is downloaded, right-click on the ZIP file and then click on Extract All Files. Double-click on the folder that has the same name as the downloaded file.
3. Then right-click on the "Setup.exe" Application and please select "Run."
4. Click Yes or Allow to continue to launch the installation routine.
5. Follow the on-screen instructions to perform the installation.
6. Restart the computer when the installation is complete.

However, in my case, for the ASUS Notebook N750JV, the problem was that Avast Cleanup Premium had disabled the ASUS ATK package. To reactivate it, go to: Avast Cleanup Premium → All functions → View background programs → 26 programs on hold → ATK package is marked "On hold." Click "Reactivate" and restart the computer for the backlight to work again.
If the keyboard backlight is not needed, it is better to set the ATK package to "On hold" to avoid slowing down the computer.

Hello, on my UX510UW I need to disable the ambient light sensor (FN+Q) to manually control the keyboard backlighting. If it's enabled, the keyboard lights up or not depending on the ambient light.

I also found the problem on my side. My issue was also due to an update from Fu** Win10 that likes to replace all your drivers that are "not compatible."
The ATK is a software that was updated at the same time as your Win10.
So you need to uninstall the ATK in "Add or Remove Programs."
Download the old ATK software: ATKPackage_WIN10_64_VER100039 by clicking on this link:

And install it, and oooop everything works like before.

On my ASUS PX705GD, simply using the FN + Up Arrow key increases the brightness or FN + Down Arrow key decreases the brightness and turns it off.

It was by consulting the user manual that I found my answer.
I hope this helps other users find this incredibly simple solution.
