Fog on iPhone X lens

Hello everyone,

Here’s my problem: I was in the shower with my iPhone X. (I thought there wouldn’t be any issues since it’s IP67 certified.) When I got out, I quickly dried it with my towel and then got dressed. When I picked up my iPhone later, I noticed fogging and small droplets trapped on the other side of the camera lens, both for the front camera and the two on the back. Additionally, Face ID no longer detects me; although my face is blurry, I managed to set it up in the settings. It just doesn’t recognize me on the lock screen anymore; I suppose there’s another sensor involved that might be obstructed by this same "fog."
What should I do? Do you have any recommendations? Is my iPhone "broken," or are the fogging and Face ID malfunction temporary?

I have the same problem with the rear camera. I accidentally dropped it in water, and now there's condensation that won't go away. I tried using a hairdryer, but it doesn't work. The fog clears up and then comes back after a few seconds. Please help me (iPhone 7).

It just happened to me the same thing on my iPhone X, how are you doing? Did it go away over time?

I had exactly the same issue with my iPhone Xr (fog in the front and rear lens), I put it in rice for 24 hours, I used a hairdryer on both hot and cold settings, the fog came back each time, more or less depending on the heat. After a few days, Face ID stopped working (I think the sensor was damaged by the water). After 10 days, I no longer noticed any fog (despite very high temperatures), and I regained very good photo quality, but Face ID still doesn't work. I think it just took a while for the water to evaporate.
I should mention that I contacted Apple’s customer support, and they said they couldn't do anything except exchange my device for 440 euros. I advise you to wait a few days or even weeks before reaching out to Apple or any repair service to avoid losing money! :)
