Hello,
When I reinstall MAC OSX El Capitan 10.11 it asks me to enter my Apple ID. I entered my email address and password as normal, but I get this error: this item is temporarily unavailable, please try again later.

I've been searching on all the websites and forums for a week and I haven't found a solution. Do you have any solutions, please???????????

MrChinwi,

In case you need it, here's a little reminder on how to find a link to another webpage. To allow readers to go directly to another webpage, a website developer uses a hyperlink. By clicking on it, a new page opens. A hyperlink is often indicated by:
- either an icon
- or a button
- or text in blue

Click on the link that Dédé or I gave you, namely this one: https://support.apple.com/fr-fr/HT211683
(did you notice the blue color of this hyperlink?)

On the Apple page that opens, you will see images of Apple computers, text in black but also lots of words in blue (in other words: hyperlinks)

If you scroll down a bit on this Apple page, you should see the big title "Download El Capitan from the App Store" with, just below, this explanation in which I have bolded what concerns you:

" If your Mac does not support High Sierra, or if you are using Snow Leopard or Lion and want to upgrade to High Sierra, follow these steps:

1- Click on the following link to open the El Capitan page in the App Store: Get OS X El Capitan.

2- Click on the Download button on the El Capitan page. If your Mac is compatible with El Capitan, a file named Installer OS X El Capitan will be downloaded into your Applications folder.

3- Once the download is complete, the file will open automatically. Click Continue and follow the instructions displayed on the screen
.

Happy downloading,

Hello,

When you click on the link Get OS X El Capitan, a window should open prompting you to log in to the Mac App Store: is that correct?
If so, then click on "Open Link" and the "App Store" application should launch.

In this "App Store" application:
- open the "Store -> Sign Out" menu if this menu is offered. If it is not offered, it means you are not logged in, so move on to the next step.

- reopen the "Store -> Create Account..." menu and follow the instructions provided to create an account on the Apple Store. You do not have to provide your credit card when prompted.

- once your account is created, relaunch the "App Store" application if needed and log in via the "Store -> Sign In..." menu to your new Apple Store account.

- once logged into your new account, click on the link Get OS X El Capitan: you should be able to download El Capitan.
