Drawing with the trackpad on my MacBook Pro

Hello everyone, I'm looking to draw small diagrams or other things with the trackpad of my MacBook Pro. Actually, I would like to be able to make small drawings for my lectures, rather than having to do them in a notebook (I take my notes on the computer). So I want to do this in a way similar to the Preview app when you create your electronic signature with the trackpad, without clicking, just drawing freely on the trackpad. If you know of any free software or anything else, that would help me a lot. I saw that this topic was created a while ago but there weren't any relevant responses. Thank you very much.

Configuration: Macintosh / Safari 11.0.1

Hello, to my knowledge, there is no software available for that. The only thing you can do with your trackpad is probably what you are already doing. I myself have a Macbook Pro and I do a lot of drawing with it, but I use a graphics tablet (not to be confused with an iPad or other PC-compatible tablets like "Acer" or similar) from the company Wacom (they are the most reliable. Their customer service is excellent and responds within 24 hours when contacted, regardless of whether you made your purchase two weeks ago or two years ago). If you don’t want to spend much on the purchase, you can get the basic model, the "Bamboo" tablet, which is sturdy and sufficiently accurate. It’s an entry-level tablet. Or if you really think you’ll love it and want a bit more options and precision, you can go for the Intuos 5, which is the one I currently have. It just broke the day before yesterday, after 8 and a half years of loyal daily service, so we can say that for electronics, it's a great achievement! And even then, the company is offering to repair it for me (it's just the female port of the USB that has become loose with use. It's not even a question of electronics or the tablet itself, which is still perfectly functional) for $200, but for my part, I prefer to buy another one, the one that falls into the Five category. Additionally, Wacom has a "refurbished" section in their products where you can also make your choice; however, I don't find that there's a significant enough difference compared to their new products to make me hesitate between refurbished or new. But that remains a matter of personal choice. You also have the size that can play a role: a 24-inch tablet is obviously not the same price as a 13-inch one (which is more than sufficient in size). I don't know if you are in France or Canada, but if you are in Quebec, I have a practically new bamboo tablet that I would let go for very little. Otherwise, here is the company’s website:

That said, to conclude, I don’t think you can perform miracles with your trackpad. It’s really not designed for drawing, and the principle is really not the same as that of a tablet like an iPad where you just take a stylus to draw on it. So on that side, I would be very surprised if you could achieve anything. You really need a graphics tablet.
Good luck!
