Hello,

Currently using WORD 2016, I am requested to create a drop-down menu in my WORD document. So far, everything is going well, but when I export the document to PDF, it doesn't keep any drop-down menu and freezes the document.

My question is therefore: How can I keep the drop-down menu after exporting my document to PDF?

I'm posting a comment because I have already searched the web quite a bit but found few quality answers.

I look forward to your response,
Best regards,
Thomas

    Hello,

The PDF export from the OPEN OFFICE suite is not a simple virtual print. It is therefore possible to have dropdown menus on PDF by using the OPEN OFFICE suite.

In WRITER, you need to choose the "Combo Box" module from the developer mode. It will require you to link this module to a database.

To do this, you need to create a table in BASE corresponding to the list of items in your dropdown menu. You can create it from CALC and import it into BASE.

Then you just have to follow what the dialog boxes in WRITER ask for.

    Hello,

It's normal. The PDF export is just a virtual print. Therefore, the Word dropdown list cannot function in the PDF.
To create dropdown lists in a PDF, you need to use Acrobat Pro, definitely not Word.
