Drop-down list with Microsoft Word 2010

Hello everyone,
I know that this question has already been asked several times but the answers do not "meet my expectations"!
So here’s my question:
How do I create a drop-down list in Microsoft Word Office 2010?
I often hear about the Office button, "Developer," but I can’t find these buttons anywhere! Please help me!
P.S: Since I'm not very tech-savvy, could you explain it simply (something like go to (a) then (b))

    Hello

    a) Developer tab
    b) Controls group
    c) Click on the button called... drop-down list
    d) Selected drop-down list, click on Control Group Properties and add items to the drop-down list

      and I even add to my incomplete answer:
      if you don't have the Developer tab: to display it
      a) File
      b) Options
      c) Customize the ribbon
      d) Check "Developer tab"
