Uninstalling ASUS Webstorage Software

Solved

Hello,
I do a bit of video editing.
Recently I wanted to show a video to a friend, and I thought of a software that had been sitting on my computer for almost 2 years: ASUS Webstorage.
So I copied/pasted the file into it.
After about 20 to 30 seconds, it told me "maximum file limit 500MB...". Mine was 2.3 GB.

Since this "error message" kept coming up too often and the software became useless, I decided to remove it. Since it didn't have an associated uninstallation program, I applied the Windows (10) method.
Apps list => select the program => Uninstall.
It disappeared from the list of applications.

But the message "maximum limit etc..." keeps coming back very often, every 2 to 3 minutes accompanied by a notification sound.
It's a black flag that appears at the bottom right of Windows 10.
In addition, there's still a leftover path that hasn't been erased:
C:\Asus Webstorage\my.address@sfr.fr\MySyncFolder which contains 4 empty folders and a readme.

It's not a blocking issue but it really annoys me.
If anyone can help me, thank you in advance
Ph J

It is an online storage system from Asus.

By interacting with it, you must have activated it, and with an email address since you indicate a path with an address in it.
You must have an online account to manage this (link mentioned above, first message)

The fact that you interacted with it must have also "woken it up" on your PC.
It seems to start at the same time as Windows.

Right-click on the Start menu (Windows icon at the bottom left)
Click on Task Manager
Once in the task manager, go to the Startup tab.
Find the line that corresponds, it should be something like "....Webstorage ...."
Right-click on this line and choose disabled

Restart and it should no longer appear since it will not launch automatically anymore.

And while you're at it, you can also disable other programs.
Your startup will be shorter and fewer things will be running in the background for no reason.

Just touch what you know, don't disable anything unknown that might be essential for the startup.

Hello
I'm deleting it but it keeps coming back to sell me space.

I'm attaching a screenshot

That's weird, I clicked on the little icon on the far right (above my text), it invited me to upload an image, and I clicked on the image. This is what it looks like.

The link you gave me doesn’t work, blank page.

This morning
- I created a restore point
- in: C:\Asus Webstorage\mon.adresse@sfr.fr\MySyncFolder I deleted: Asus Webstorage\mon.adresse@sfr.fr\MySyncFolder
- the 2 processes disappeared.

Everything seems to be working.
I will leave it at that.

Thank you for your help.

For cloud space, I’ve seen several (I have SFR which offers me 9 GB, but files must not exceed 500 MB, I use it for photos). All the ones I've seen are similar.

Thanks again

See you.

My link works for me, it directly starts the download but it’s true that another empty page opens in another window.

But if you have no more processes and have finished removing it, that’s good.

-----------------------

For hosting large files, as I mentioned, I use it occasionally, like Dropbox or 1fichier.com or GrosFichiers... but for free you don’t always have full control with proper document management.
Take a look here:

You’re welcome ;-)

Please mark as resolved if that’s the case. Thanks.

Good evening,

This is online storage, check if you have an account and log in to see what's going on.
Delete the file that exceeds its capacity. And look to disable this cloud.

Thank you Gugu01
- The PC:
here it is, I disabled the Asus Webstorage Loader and the flag no longer bothers me.
If we can enable or disable it, we should be able to delete it.
I searched the entire C: drive for the word webstorage, there is only the first folder in the branch:
C:\Asus Webstorage\my.address@sfr.fr\MySyncFolder
I want to cut it back to C:
In the task manager there are no applications by that name, but there are two processes...!
What do you think?

- The CLOUD:
For Asus Webstorage, I logged in via the link you provided. I saw that in the cloud there was a folder with the same empty folders and the readme, as on my PC. I deleted them.
On the Asus Webstorage site, I couldn't find a way to unsubscribe or delete my account.

Thanks again
Philippe

(if you know a cloud that can lend 2 to 5 GB for a duration of 8 to 10 days, and if we can also choose between allowing reading and allowing copying, I’m interested)

Reinstall the http://globedl.asuswebstorage.com/asuswebstorage/client_update/asp/wsync/ASUSWebStorageSyncAgent2.4.3.612.exe

During installation, uncheck "run at startup of Windows ..." if prompted.

Otherwise, disable it from startup if it is (Task Manager).

Then let me know if there are any active processes. And if it appears in your list of programs.

We will see about uninstalling it properly if it has a setup.
Or we will use software to remove it.

(some people have had issues with file explorer afterwards, so we need to do this carefully to avoid problems)

----------------------------

For online storage, I won't be of much help; I only use it occasionally without preference.
Everyone offers it, your internet provider may also give you a cloud.
Or look more closely at Asuswebstorage, if possible, offer some free space for larger files.
