Hello
I've been using Money for ages, and by the way, I made the corrections to make it work on W10
Everything was perfect, then I wanted to use a backup on another computer running MONEY on W10
I restored the backup and then got the infamous message "Unable to enter this transaction"
I checked the version via "regedit"
it doesn’t work
do you have a solution
Thanks in advance

Hello;
If you tried to restore your backup on another machine, there may be a user name conflict because I suppose these two machines do not have the same name?
For your information, it is no longer necessary to make changes in the registry as the bug has been fixed a long time ago in W10
In many cases, a simple clean and complete uninstallation of MsMoney corrects these errors, which is why I suggest you do what is written below
Uninstallation and reinstallation of Microsoft MsMoney
1-Make sure the last backup is up to date and valid: If that’s the case, you need to make a copy of this backup on a removable medium (USB drive-CD/RW or External HDD)
2-Uninstall MsMoney completely using Revo Uninstaller, to download follow >> This link
Launch this tool, search for Microsoft MsMoney and uninstall it
3-Open the hidden files of Windows / If problems >> See This link
then navigate to the path C:\User(Username)\AppData\local\Microsoft >> Look for Money and delete it
4-Open the registry by typing Regedit (by clicking on the Windows icon at the bottom left and typing regedit and opening it (see at the top of the window))
Open the key Hkey_Current_User then look for Software >> Microsoft >> Money > To be deleted
Open the key Hkey_Local_Machine and do the same operation (If Money is present but in principle it’s not!)
5-Restart the machine
6-Reinstall MsMoney version 2005 using the update (or reinstallation) patch available at >> This link
then carry out the installation by following the procedure from the link above
7-Launch MsMoney from the backup made in 1- and everything should be back to normal
For security reasons >> Always make a backup of MsMoney on a removable medium (External hard drive - USB drive or CD/RW)
You need to configure your backup according to the screenshot templates from the download link for the patch depending on the backup destination (Example made for a backup on CD/RW)
If problems >> Return to the Forum >> For your information, I will be absent until 1 PM
See you later for the result
