Open/Close Chevron

Hello,
I'm almost ashamed to ask this question...
I bought a new laptop and it turns out that I have no way to make opening or closing chevrons on my keyboard.
On Xubuntu (16.something), the Alt+062 and Alt+064 shortcuts do not work.
Can someone help me with this somewhat ridiculous problem?

Thank you in advance.

      Hello,

At my place (Mint 17.3) it’s AltGr+w (") for the opening quote ;-

For me, it's on Debian. Strange that it's different...
Isn't it rather the PC's keyboard that's making the difference?

In any case, I advise him to try AltGr with all the keys on his keyboard; he's going to make some discoveries.

Well, I don't think so. I've posted an image above (and its link) that I've had displayed next to my desk for when Alzheimer's becomes too pressing at times ;-)

Finally no, it must not come from the keyboard; the Z and W correspond to the same physical key when switching from QWERTY to AZERTY... There must be a small flaw in my keyboard settings.
