Boot beeps on my Lenovo computer

Question

Hello, For the past few weeks, when I turn on my laptop (Lenovo Yoga 700), it makes a continuous short beeping sound, and I have to turn it off by holding down the power button and then turn it back on. Sometimes I have to do this several times before it actually starts up. I have a Phoenix BIOS, and I’ve already done some research before but found no document corresponding to this series of BIOS. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hello,  I would willingly suspect the CMOS battery on the motherboard...  Or a defect in your memory sticks.

Yes, a CMOS battery lasts between 5 and 10 years, so if you're still under warranty, it should still be good.  The CPU temperature could be an issue if the air vents are blocked, both on the intake and exhaust sides... or if the thermal paste is deficient; but that would be a manufacturing issue...  You can have a failure in your PC; it happens from time to time.

There is definitely something wrong... and it's not Windows since it happens right away and before Windows starts to load.  I still talked to you about ventilation ducts... that you seem to ignore.??  Otherwise, the obvious solution is to use the warranty..

with a brush in one hand and a vacuum cleaner in the other... the hairdresser's brush for dyeing works very well...  And moreover, do not put objects, sheets of paper, or anything else to obstruct the ventilation grilles... Working on your knees for example, or on the duvet.  That's it for this topic... it can also be something else.???
