Migration from 32-bit to 64-bit Ubuntu

I have a HP PC with a Core 2 Duo that is 64-bit, but I installed Ubuntu 16.04 32-bit on this PC because I didn’t know the PC was 64-bit.
Unfortunately most software is 64-bit.
My question: how to go from Ubuntu 16.04 32-bit to Ubuntu 16.04 64-bit?
