Hello,

I have Windows 10 32-bit and I would like to upgrade it to 64-bit, but when I start
the application, it tells me This application cannot run on your PC.

Can you help me solve this problem?
Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
Are you sure your PC supports the installation of the 64-bit version?
Just because the processor is 64-bit doesn't mean you can install the 64-bit version of Windows: many low-cost laptops with only 2 GB of RAM do not support the installation of the 64-bit version simply because the UEFI firmware is 32-bit (to allow the installation of the 32-bit version of Windows).
What specific PC do you have?

        It's not a low-cost PC then.
        How old is this PC?
Does it support UEFI or not (check in the BIOS)?
What is the current format of the hard drive? GPT or MBR?

    Hi,

Changing the architecture requires reinstalling Windows.
You need to take the 64-bit installation ISO.

    Reinstalling Windows 10:

Follow this tutorial that explains how to install Windows 10: how to install Windows 10.
All the steps are provided from A to Z with tips at the end to secure Windows 10.

The steps are roughly as follows:

    - Download the Windows 10 installation ISO: https://www.microsoft.com/fr-fr/software-download/windows10 (other download methods: https://www.malekal.com/telecharger-iso-windows/ ).
    - Create the installation media using Media Creation Tool
    - Boot from it by modifying the boot sequence and indicating the USB key or DVD: How to boot the computer from a USB key
If the USB key doesn't work, try making another one with Rufus: how to download Rufus - see this tutorial for details: how to create a Windows installation USB key
    - Let yourself be guided to install Windows 10.
    - Choose customize (not upgrade)
    - During the partition phase, select the main partition and format it.
    - Click next, it will tell you that a Windows is already installed and that it will be moved.
    - Follow the Windows installation procedure using the tutorial above.

Thank you for your response, but I can't do it because Windows is compressed on the hard drive.

The first link I started, I clicked on update now and it says disk controller: The current active partition is compressed.
