Hello everyone,

Here is my problem. I have an HP Proliant DL360 G7 server with the following specifications:
- 2 Xeon E5620 processors 2.4 GHz
- 24 GB of RAM
- Integrated graphics card: ATI ES1000
- 1 x RS-232
- 1 x Display / VGA
- 1 x SD Slot
- 1 x iLO remote management port
- 4 x RJ 45 Ethernet 10/100/1000
- 4 x USB 2.0
- 1U Rack

This server has a very low-quality graphics card, and I would like to add one via a PCI port. Indeed, this server will need to handle quite powerful graphic software. I know that HP has not tested third-party graphics cards. But apparently, it is still possible. However, I do not know which graphics card is compatible with the server's motherboard. I have already done a lot of research online. Some say that the graphics card should not consume more than 75 Watts, while others say 150 Watts. Who should I believe? In addition, I do not know if certain graphics cards need additional power beyond the PCI port and therefore would not be suitable in my case.
I have already done a bit of searching and found two graphics cards:

Here is the technical sheet of the server in question: https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c04284501.pdf?ver=37

Thank you in advance for your help, which will be valuable to me, and for the time you are willing to spend on it.

Best regards,

I found another document talking about this:

(See pages 59-63).
Apparently, you can connect a 150-watt power source per cable, but can all graphics cards have a power cable in addition to the PCI connection?
Moreover, what is the difference between a "regular" PCI port and PCIe riser boards or PCI-X expansion boards?
Thanks again for your help :) .
