HP Pavilion G7 Graphics Card Issue

Hello, I bought a HP Pavilion G7 series laptop in the store yesterday, it cost me 599 euros.

The original configuration was:

- Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2330M 2.20GHz
- Memory (RAM): 6.00 GB
- Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7450M + Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

But the problem is that the desired games do not run on it, while my old laptop, which had a lower configuration, handled them easily, and when I go on Can You Run It, or on sites like Tout Les Drivers, they tell me that the integrated graphics card is a 6400 HD.

Has this problem happened to anyone else? I have tried in vain to activate the right graphics card for the games, but nothing works, the laptop remains on the base one.

I just bought an HP Pavilion G7 series PC, I have an Intel HD Graphics + AMD Radeon HD 7450 graphics card, an Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz processor, 4 GB RAM,
I feel like my AMD Radeon HD 7450 graphics card is not selected by default because, for example, Sniper Elite V2 lags, Blacklight Retribution lags too, Tribes Ascend lags as well, etc.

I would like to know if my problem is possible or not and if this configuration is ultimately not powerful enough for this kind of games!

    Hi!!

I hope by now you have resolved your issue, otherwise for others who might have the same problem with the Radeon HD 7450M on a Pavilion G7, just do the following:

Right-click on the desktop -> configure switchable graphics -> then choose the applications you want to run with the HD 7450M.

There you go, I hope this helps you.

You know what’s beautiful about your solution? It doesn’t work at all for me, actually. Just so you know, I’m still a minor and my dad is an Analyst-Programmer, a civil servant on top of that. So he knows a bit about this mess, you see?
He managed to get this technological error working, but when I tried to update the old driver (2011), I completely messed it up.
He already struggled a lot to get this PC running, and now it doesn’t work at all, you know? And to get back to your solution, so far it’s the simplest related to CCC that I know, but the games are stuck on this computer and immediately revert to the Intel (R) HD Graphics Family card, which is completely useless, while the other one, the AMD Radeon HD 7450M, seems like it doesn't even exist. But I need the higher one; even though I have the same graphics setup as mentioned at the top of the thread, my games don’t lag, they don’t launch at all. So I don’t really know what to do except scream at my poor grandmother who bought a PC without knowing anything about it.
Unluckily, she asked a guy from Conforama for advice on which PC to buy. And of course, it's very logical that a guy from Conforama would give you advice on a Gaming PC. So she ended up buying from what seems to be the worst cheap Gaming PC vendor.

      Hi,
Sorry, I haven't logged in for a while. I think you need to install the driver from the HP website. I had the same problem some time ago; they must have a specific driver for their switchable graphics. Anyway, I'm just like you; my girlfriend bought this PC for me at Conforama, and the salesperson told her something like "For gaming, you need to get this, there's nothing better, you know!" Personally, I think they probably get a little commission when they sell certain products.

Thank you for looking at my problem, which is generally the same as yours, except that it's because of a mistake I made.

Configure the switchable graphics of the Catalyst Control Center and even if the game launcher takes the Intel, you will be playing on the ATI. I had the same problem, but now all games before 2013 run on my setup:

Intel Pentium B950 at 2.10 GHz
    ATI Radeon 7670 M 1 GB DDR 5
    Intel HD 4000
