Good evening everyone!
Here is my problem;
I bought new PC components, except for a hard drive to save some money. But I would like to know if it would be possible to take the hard drive from my old PC and put it in the new one? Considering that Windows 10 is installed on it.
Do I therefore need to buy a new hard drive and an operating system? Will I have to format my hard drive? Or can I simply take my old hard drive and put it in the new PC?
Thank you for your help! :)

Hi
First of all, regarding the license, it all depends on what type of license it is
You can check it with the command slmgr /dlv typed in a command prompt
If it's Retail, you can use it on another PC
If it's OEM, it is normally not transferable
However, you can try to apply the reactivation procedure after changing hardware:
https://support.microsoft.com/fr-fr/windows/r%C3%A9activation-de-windows-10-apr%C3%A8s-un-changement-de-configuration-mat%C3%A9rielle-2c0e962a-f04c-145b-6ead-fb3fc72b6665
Regarding the installation of W10
You give it a shot, Windows will try to manage and you may need to do a repair while keeping the software and personal files.
