Personally, I would keep the for changing as desired with the button that has appeared at the bottom right of the taskbar because this method slightly modifies the layout of the keyboard such as "-" changing to "§" two or three others like that.

I do not recommend it because the French keyboard is not similar to the BEC keyboard, especially the special keys like @, the accents on the letters, etc.
Keep the current one and simply switch your keyboard via your taskbar next to the clock to display the French option and change the keyboard
