Hello,
I had my laptop in its carrying case when the strap broke. The laptop fell flat on the hood. I opened it: no cracks, but when I start it, there is only a dark screen and it doesn't show anything. The lights are on, the CD drive opens, and the fan is running. When I connect it via VGA to another screen, it shows "no signal." I’ve already checked several forums without finding an answer. How can I diagnose if the hard drive, motherboard, or graphics card are dead, and what exactly is the BIOS and how do I access it?
PC: HP Pavilion 15 (5 years old)
Windows 10
I believe I have a recovery CD
Thank you for your responses.

My computer: HP Pavilion 15 notebook, about 5 years old. Originally Windows 8 with the Windows 10 upgrade.
