Prevent laptop from shutting down when closed

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum, so in a few words, I'm a computer science student and a casual gamer. I've been following the "comment ça marche" forum for a little while, and I have to say I really like the community.

So I have a question. Tired of my small laptop screen, I've decided to connect it to a monitor (the laptop is only used as a CPU) and I bought another keyboard to use with the monitor. The problem is: I wanted to close the laptop and place the monitor on top of it, but it goes to sleep as soon as I close it. So I have to place it next to it, and it's not very aesthetic...

I wanted to know if it was possible to tell Windows not to shut down when the lid closes.

Thanks in advance,

TheLantean

    Hello,

You need to go to the power options of the PC and find the setting "when I close the lid": "do nothing".
