Hello.
I am new and need your help. I hope I am posting in the right place.
I have recovered a PC, Windows 7 Professional, for my son, which was part of a network. I wanted to delete all the documents, or even reset it to factory settings. They are in docx format. I keep receiving the same message, 0x800710FE, this file is not usable on this computer currently. I have already tried many fixes without success. Would a kind soul have a solution or should I keep the files?
Best regards.

    Hello

    To test:

    Folder name: right click: properties

    Offline Files tab

    Uncheck "Always available offline".

Click on "Sync now" and then "Apply"

An error message appears, but when leaving the tab, the folder has disappeared.

Found online but it might work. However, you mentioned having reset to factory settings, which seems surprising to me because if that were the case, there wouldn't be any files left.

    So it's not very clear.

I can't uncheck the requested box.
I'm sorry, I misspoke; I wasn't able to restore it to factory settings.

Is this computer one that was part of a business network?

Well, then it’s probably normal; there must be a corporate configuration, with an administrator for the PCs, rights management for files and shared files.

In short, this won’t solve your problem because ideally, you would need to reinstall the PC from scratch to avoid all future issues.

Is it a desktop? A laptop?
      Brand model?
Is there a sticker on it with the license for Windows Seven?

Do you still have the option to contact them again?

It's a desktop PC, the brand is Inea Informatique, and there is indeed a sticker attached to the tower with the license. Since the school has just closed, the entire team has been reassigned.

ha... so ideally we would need to find a DC with the identical version of Windows, reinstall it, and validate it with the license.
