Hello,

For a week now, I’ve been having trouble saving a document with PowerPoint 2013.

When I try to save, a message appears saying that it is impossible to save this document because it is read-only. The problem is that I never changed the document settings to make it read-only.

This same message suggests saving under a different name. And when I try to save under a different name, I receive this message:

"PowerPoint failed to open or save this document. Please check that you have the required read and write permissions and that the document is not encrypted."

I also get this message: "1 error that could make PowerPoint unstable has occurred. Save your document and restart PowerPoint." But I cannot save because the file is set to read-only.

My file is located on an external hard drive where there is still plenty of storage space.

I have this problem on both my personal computer and my work computer.

In the end, I always lose some of the unsaved work.

Good evening
try this:
Copy the file and place it on your desktop
Open the PowerPoint file
Create a new slideshow
COPY (CTRL+A) each slide (one by one) .. there’s no other choice .. and paste them into the new file one below the other to recreate your file... then save your file under a different name.
I don’t have any other ideas.
In any case, the original file is probably corrupted and it’s impossible to repair it now.
