HP ENVY 5640 is not printing anymore

Hello,
I have an HP ENVY 5640 printer that no longer prints on my PC (via USB cables / Windows XP) even though it worked fine until a few days ago.

Recently, I uninstalled/reinstalled ZoneAlarm and Avira, but I don't think it's related since disabling them does not make the printer work.

I don't think it's a cable issue because I can still scan properly.

I tried deleting the printer to reinstall it, but when I reconnect the USB cable (after removing it from the "Printers and Faxes" control panel), the computer beeps to detect it, but it doesn't offer to install a new device.
However, the HP ENVY 5640 series software launches, I choose the USB connection option but can't proceed because it asks me to connect the cable...

Do you have any ideas?
Maybe a system restore...?

Thanks in advance,
JJ

Also, it's not the software because I can't print via the image preview, Adobe Reader, or Notepad...

I was able to reinstall the printer through the control panel and it's still the same, the scanner works but there's no printing...
