Hi, last week, I had to reinstall Windows 7, and since then, I’ve been trying to find the version of WMM I was using, which worked very well, but without success.

I installed the one from this site, but it's a completely different version that constantly bugs, plus it has a really annoying new interface!!
And most importantly, this version won't open my old projects with the .wlmp extension!!! :/
I had a 10-minute project with over 500 video clips of a few seconds each, and I admit that it really annoys me...

The one I was using had the video playback window on the left, while the current one has it on the right...

A big thank you to whoever can help me, because I would like to recover my old .wlmp projects.

    Hello,

Microsoft removed this version of Movie Maker from its catalog on January 10, 2017.

You still have a chance to recover it from this site:
    https://www.cnetfrance.fr/news/windows-essentials-2012-clap-de-fin-pour-la-suite-logicielle-39847030.htm

Direct link for the complete package:

    Read the installation instructions.

    Best regards

Thank you, but it's still the same problem. :'(

It installs the same version as the one on this site, the one with the video window on the right, which completely bugs every time I try to do something, and which doesn't recognize the .wlmp extension

Now I can't even try anymore because it tells me it's already installed, even though I uninstalled it... (it's strange no joke...)

I've tried about ten different links since 9 a.m. this morning (5 hours non-stop...), and honestly, I'm fed up, I can't find that good version that worked really well. I don't understand why Microsoft removed it.
I guess you have to upgrade to Windows 10 to hope to find a similar or equivalent version.
