a friend just gave me an EPSON STYLUS OFFICE BX600FW printer, without the installation CD. I've downloaded the application but the PC doesn't recognize the printer
what should I do? Thank you for your help as I'm not very good with computers.

What is your operating system .. Windows 10 .. Windows 8.1 .. or another system?

Go to the page indicated at the bottom of the post and download the 2 drivers (printer and scanner)
WARNING check your system 8.1 .. 32 bits or 64 bits!
You can see this info by right-clicking in the bottom left corner and then clicking on "system".. look at what is indicated in the 'system type' line
Click on "download"
click on the bar that appears at the bottom on "save"
Once the download is finished, close the bar
go to the user folder then open the "downloads" folder
you see a file named : epson374982eu
double click on the file and follow the instructions.
Normally if everything went well your printer should now work.
Repeat the operation for the scanner driver.

thank you for your help, I now have "Epson Scan" and "driver".
I open EPSON Scan, I choose the printer model, I uncheck
"default printer" OK, French language OK, I accept the license OK
I now have a window where I can click on manual or cancel
and another window: WinZip Self-Extractor (setup is grayed out)
I don't know what to do!

As I don't know if you have software to "zip/unzip," you need to download this one and install it (take the Windows 64-bit version)

I now have this software on my desktop, what is its function regarding the printer? I haven't run it yet.
The software in question allows you to "extract" the files that are in the "archives" you have downloaded.
Go back to your "downloads" folder
select one of the zipped folders, then right-click on it and choose "7zip" and then "extract here."
By doing so, you will "uncover" (extract if you prefer) the files in the zipped folder, and they will appear in the downloads folder.
Next, open the folder you just extracted and look for a file called "setup"... double-click on it to start the installation of the software.
Proceed in the same way with the second "zipped" file.

When I right-click on an icon, I have the option to open or run as administrator. ??? (no zipped file)

last message: the installation of EPSON scan is complete click the finish button then connect the scanner by following the instructions provided in the manual, but I don't have the manual
