Hello,

I'm quite troubled because I can't update my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, model SM-T310, and therefore can't enjoy the new features of certain apps (notably Netflix offline mode).

The currently installed version is 4.2.2, whereas many versions have been released since then...!

However, when I check for updates ("Settings > About device > Software update > Update"), a message tells me that it's up to date...

I bought this model in 2013, so it may be the case that my tablet is too old to perform an update above V 4.2.2?

What do you think, experts?

    Hello,

    If Samsung does not provide updates via OTA, it is very likely that there won't be any updates at all.
    Aside from rooting with the installation of a custom ROM, there is no solution (this manipulation remains complex and carries the risk of permanently damaging your device).

      Thank you Athena for your reply which makes me a little angry (I admit). For a tablet that is 3 years old, it's quite unfortunate to be already stuck on updates...

      Yes and no, because app developers could extend compatibility to more earlier versions.
      But the major problem remains the hardware limitations of the product at the origin.

      The Tab 3 remains an entry-level to mid-range tablet, and it is these hardware limitations that block system updates.

      hello

      yes but no this tablet should be on 4.4.2 and not on 4.2.2... go to the Samsung website and install the Kies software on your PC, then open Kies and connect your tablet, and it should offer you the update to 4.4.2 here you can see that version 4.4.2 exists for the SM-T310... of course, this is if you're still on an official firmware and not rooted
