Hello,
When I try to open a document in Open Office, a "ASCII filter options" window appears. The document displayed on the screen is then unreadable. I tried going to "save as" by changing "encoded text" to "ODF text," but nothing works. I also did a test, but the text still won't print. Some documents display correctly, but I still can't print them.
Can you help me resolve this issue? I've been struggling for several hours without success.
Thank you
Configuration: Windows / Chrome 55.0.2883.87

What is the original file extension?
If this type of window appears, it means that either the file is not compatible or it is corrupted.
What you did by saving as Odt is useless because if your software can't read it, it is obvious that it won't be able to convert it for you.
Install LibreOffice and try to open your original file:

LibreOffice is the best alternative to Microsoft Office. It's no coincidence that LibreOffice is by default in almost all Linux distributions.
