Identity verification issue

Hello,
I want to log back into a Google account that I haven't accessed in a long time. I have the email address but not the password, so I'm clicking "forgot password." Once that’s done, I answer the "secret" questions that I set during the creation of my account, and I enter the six-digit code I receive on a more recent email address. The problem is that once I enter the code, Google tells me, "You can't sign in to this account right now because we can't verify your identity."
And I can't do anything else but sign in to another account.
Is there a solution?
Thank you.

Hi, I found this on a Google forum.
As long as the system cannot certify that it's really you, access will remain impossible! You need to keep responding (only once a day) to the following form: Account sign-in issues - Google Account Help
Make sure to always try from the same location (and therefore the one usually used)!
The recovery time reported on this forum varies from 3 to more than 40 days!
Good luck.
