Hello,

I received a text from Grdf giving me an appointment on 31/10 between 10 AM and 12 PM in my municipality, with no specific location mentioned. If I am unable to be present, contact my gas supplier to postpone the intervention!?????? Probably another scam. The number: 38955

Configuration: iPad / Safari 10.0

I am indeed in a building. But the appointment is given in the town! Between 10 AM and 12 PM! Where? That doesn't make any sense! And at that time I am at work. My supplier would have contacted me if there had been a problem.

What do other internet users think about it? In my opinion, it needs to be reported. On the government website.

In apartment buildings, the meters are centralized inside in the technical room or stairwells, so they logically do not have free access to perform the readings. Therefore, clients must be present. The appointment is obviously scheduled at your place, the only location where they can read your meter.

There is nothing to report, as allowing access for the meter reader is a legal obligation... Enedis and GRDF must be able to read your meter at any time and without constraint. Now, nothing prevents you from having someone else come or from not being present; typically, there is an option to provide your meter reading online or by mail on a form they will send you. At least, Enedis operates this way (I'm less sure about GRDF, but they are two very close entities).

There is no reading to be done, it was done in June 2016. It's simply a scam. An agent does not come out for a meter, and the other occupants have received nothing!

As I told you, the number from which the message was sent is 100% legitimate and indeed comes from GRDF. Now it's up to you to think what you want... A mistake perhaps, yes, but a scam: impossible.

Hello, no, it's not a scam, it's the same number used by Enedis (formerly ERDF) to announce the reading. I received a text yesterday as well, and all my information was included.

I am a works contractor for GRDF (construction of connections, installation of boxes) and this appointment surprises me given that the meter is in a box at the property line in the case of a single-family house. Do you live in an apartment building? Or is your connection already in place, or are you waiting for a new connection?
