Even if you have the latest generation i7 processor... if the CPU is crap it won't work.

And that's exactly a reason to have GPU-limited.

In the end, having an i7 with such a lousy card... the PC can only be junky and expensive for nothing at all.

GTX950M is a laptop GPU. Obviously, a GTX950 will perform much better than a GT720. However, you should check if your power supply is powerful enough to run it. If not, you would also need to change the power supply.

with a GTX 950 we are already far from the GT 720 there is a real performance gap between the two.

The 1060 isn’t at 2000 bucks either. ;-)

The entry-level 1060s are about 30 to 50 euros more expensive than the GTX 950.

The good 950s run around 180 euros while entry-level GTX1060s run around 230 euros. (price observed at TopAchat) ;-)

In the end not a huge difference... but a card that will last for several years and be fully compatible with Dx12 and the new features.

Finally, it also depends on which processor it will be paired with, but an i5 is more than enough.
