Hello,
I know there are many topics like mine, but often the answers don't suit me (too complex or not adapted to my case), that's why I'm creating this discussion.

I have a problem, when installing Windows 7, when I attempt to install it from a USB flash drive (plugged into a USB 2.0 port, but I also tried USB 3.0 and even 3.1). I can boot from the drive, I start the installation and I get an error message saying: "a CD/DVD drive driver is missing." I've looked on several forums and the problem seems to be related to the IDE/AHCI/RAID modes concerning the SSD. I don't understand this part (I don't know what these modes mean, and I can't find how to change them in the BIOS.)
To clarify the context: the SSD is a Samsung 750 EVO (120 GB), my setup includes another 1TB HDD and my motherboard is an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming, everything is new, I assembled the PC and I'm stuck on the Windows installation.

I hope one of you can help me and explain these IDE/AHCI/RAID modes in a simple way.

Thank you in advance, I hope I was clear.

That's good, I have the solution to my problem.

Windows 7 needed SATA drivers, so I went to the ASUS website (the manufacturer of my motherboard) to find them and loaded them onto my new PC via a USB stick.
I hope this can help others. :)
