Hello, I updated Windows on my computer and now I can no longer open certain applications like Word 2016, Avast, etc. When I try to open them, I get an error message saying that the application could not start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. My computer is running Windows 10. I hope someone can help me. Thank you.

Hello,
Generally, when this type of error appears, it is because the Microsoft Visual C++ redistributions, which allow applications like Word or Excel to run, are not up to date.
Could you take a screenshot of the list of Microsoft Visual C++ redistributions found in the programs and features, accessible like this: right-click on the start menu --> Programs and Features?
You will find the applications installed on the PC, and there you will take a screenshot of all the applications starting with "Microsoft Visual C++..." (full name, installed on, and version, in particular).
