Hello everyone,

I play a lot of Criminal Case on Facebook, and in this game, there are often video ads that, if you click on them and watch them, give you 20 Energies, which equals one free game. And almost every day, I get over 40 additional games this way... Well, that was BEFORE...
Before two anomalies systematically started happening for the past 3 days:
1/ each ad window shrinks to a small rectangle where the following message appears:
2/ "sorry, something went wrong with this video, please try again"...

I typed this phrase into Google, which led me to this forum, where I didn't see how I could regain normal use of this game.

I should mention that I have frequent Windows updates, and I refuse the ones that force me to upgrade to W10..

Could one of these updates be causing a blockage?

In fact, I don't know what to do or think anymore. I would be very grateful to anyone who could help me with this, and I thank them warmly in advance.

No, I have no blockers on any browser, and the problem, which persists, only concerns Facebook. When I play other free games, which have ads, everything is fine... As for Facebook, this only involves Criminal Case, NO other game I play on FB, like bubble shooter or others..

I wonder if I shouldn't finally upgrade from 8.1 to W10, because I'm downloading a whole bunch of updates, the usefulness of which I don't really know (except for the 2 that allow the upgrade to the new OS..) and quite a few additional problems have arisen alongside those I’m experiencing with Facebook, and this has been going on for 4 days now...
When I run a Malwarebytes (Premium) scan: perfect... no junk installed. Same with Defender, Superantispyware (PRO version). So, my system is not infected (in principle)...

There you go... I'm still at the same point.

Hi there, I also got ads for free lightning bolts and I had reached almost 9000... I don't play on my computer but on my iPhone. And one day, there were hardly any, just one every now and then... until the day the app crashed.... I had no choice but to uninstall it and reinstall it, of course losing all the accumulated lightning bolts. But you keep the coins and progress in the quests... for my part, I’m in Africa. I'm well ahead in the game, and on the other hand, I haven't had any ads to this day. Keep me updated! Hugs

Hi At40, I did a complete cleanup of my system with Privazer (Donors, significantly more feature-rich than the free version) and a few hours later... MIRACLE, everything started working normally again. Privazer removes, among other things, all the old updates that have become useless. I still don't know if there was a link to that, but the fact is: everything has returned to normal since then. And on the Criminal Case side, I just finished the first investigation of the new version... and I'm eagerly awaiting the 24th, around 1 PM, to be able to play the second investigation... And there are 60 in total planned! Not likely to see the end of it soon... Have fun and see you later. Hugs.
