Hello
I have a problem with Windows Media Player (on Windows 8.1) when trying to rip tracks from a CD, and the message is as follows:
"Windows Media Player cannot rip one or more tracks from the CD"
Furthermore, when I go to "ripping settings" / "advanced options" / "rip music" / "rip music to this location"...
there is no path mentioned, and I cannot modify or enter anything in the text box
Thanks in advance to anyone who has a solution!

After weeks of searching, I finally found THE solution!
The Player stores the extracted songs in your computer's Media Library. Check if the destination path for the copies exists in the player: Organize / Options / Rip Music.
If there’s nothing like a location, try “Modify...”.
If nothing happens, it means you have deleted your Media Library. In this case, you can no longer rip music from a CD, as ripping music in Windows Media Player is linked to the Library.
Here’s how to find the path to the rip folder:
In Windows Media Player
- select ORGANIZE (top left) / MANAGE LIBRARIES / MUSIC
Then ADD / choose your rip folder.
From now on, the MODIFY option is valid again!

I can't enter text (therefore a path) in the "extract music to this location" area after clicking on "edit"...
I can play music stored in the "my music" directory (previous extractions) but can't extract anything more to date...
By the way, how could I have deleted the Library and if that's the case, how can I find it again if I haven't emptied the recycle bin (what is its path)?
Thanks again for your concern, best regards.
