Hello, I purchased a storm lighter; it was working fine with a basic thin blue flame, but that's over now. Now I have to use the sparks from another lighter to ignite it, and the flame is a large blue flame with a yellow tip. The ignition is electric. Is it a gas problem? Or an ignition problem? Or am I totally mistaken? I’m attaching a photo of the lighter lit for clarity

Good evening,
It needs to be dismantled and the 3 or 4 holes located on the gas back need to be cleaned...
And there you go!!! -
Cheap windproof lighters don't last long.
There is another type of windproof lighter; you should give it a try: https://www.pureinnov.com/boutique/briquets-arc-electrique/briquet-tempete/

Hello,
the appeal of the electric arc lighter is undeniable, but for lighting a pipe or heating heat-shrink tubing or for other DIY uses, its effectiveness is more unpredictable. The torch system of the windproof lighter is practical, but finding a reliable model, not to mention the price, is another matter. Why? -

And if that isn't enough, put a little WD40 on the nozzle and then blow it out with compressed air and it will be as good as new!!!

Hello,
I encountered the same problem with 4 storm lighters from different brands that I purchased. When new, they worked fine on the first refill. After the second refill, despite a prior recommended purge, they no longer worked properly. I think that when they are new, the gas tanks are empty, or even "vacuum," and that a complete refill leads to good operation. The question remains how to put the tank back under vacuum for a proper recharge. If anyone has an idea... -
Indeed, the electric lighter is a good, reliable, and not necessarily very expensive alternative. Today, there are many very effective models that serve the same purpose as a "windproof lighter." There are actually options for every taste, and the object has a very nice modern touch https://briquet-electrique.com/selection-briquet-electrique/

Hello,
I am experiencing a similar problem except that it doesn’t turn on at all. I bought it and it worked 2 or 3 times. When I turn it on, sometimes I see a small flame like a lighter that goes out on its own; it doesn't stay lit, and sometimes I have nothing at all, although when I bring it close to my ear, I hear gas escaping.
I’m attaching a photo of the lighter in question.
If you have any links so that I can potentially repair it, that would be LOVELY. I’m quite handy.
Thank you in advance!!
