Where to throw away empty lighters?

Hello,
I searched online but didn't find anything on this subject... Except that lighters are not recyclable.
My lighter is not empty but it no longer produces a flame.
I imagine it's not recommended to throw it in the regular trash?

    Hello,

    The amount of gas and pressure are really very low. The risk is almost non-existent and even lower than the risk with a can of hairspray or something that is never empty when thrown away.
